Winning name of Norwich City of Ale Festival 2017 charity beer to be announced

The winning name for this year’s charity beer at the Norwich City of Ale Festival is set to be announced.

For the sixth year Woodforde’s has created a unique brew for the event, which runs from May 25 to June 4.

Each year City of Ale supports a local charity through sales of the special brew and for 2017 money will be raised for Norfolk’s cancer charity, the Big C.

The beer is described as a 4.2pc mid-golden ale, zesty with crisp floral flavours, made with Amarillo and Cascade hops from the West Coast of the USA.

People have been invited to name the ale with the winner set to be announced at the fourth City of Ale 2017 meeting at the Murderers pub from 10am on Tuesday, April 18.

The winner will receive two VIP tickets to the festival launch party on May 25, where they will be presented with a demipin of the ale.

Woodforde’s will donate 20p for every pint sold.
