It might be autumn, but a crop of flowers is bursting out across Sheringham - to help a cancer charity cause.
A Spot the Sunflowers trail is being staged by the Cromer and Sheringham Operatic Society, in conjunction with its upcoming Calendar Girls play, which are both raising funds for the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research charity.
The sunflower is the symbol used by the Calendar Girls when they first produced their groundbreaking “alternative” Women’s Institute calendar, which went on to feature in a movie and stage show.
The blooms dotted around shop windows in Sheringham are quite small, at just 5cms or 2in across, but the challenge is for people to write down where they all are.
Competition forms will be available from the Little Theatre box office from Saturday October 13, costing 50p each. The competition will then run until Saturday October 20, with the winners receiving a pair of tickets for the society’s Sound Of Music show next May.
For tickets for Calendar Girls, running October 16-20, call 01263 822347.
