The Eastern Daily Press is investigating what time the last train is for people who want to enjoy our region’s nightlife and cultural events, and then use a rail service to get home.

To send a link to this page to a friend, you must be logged in.

We want to hear readers’ and rail passengers’ views on whether they think the trains run late enough, how often they catch the last train and what would make them consider using a night-time train service more often.

  • our last train home from norwich is 10:45pm, would be ideal to have it later as usually we go to watch bands in london and have to stay there as even though we can get back from london to norwich we cant from norwich to sheringham unless we drive up to norwich and pay hefty parking charges, same goes for just going to gigs in norwich we have to drive as no late trains.

  • Cant have a proper day in london. The last train is at 07.40 from London for the connection from Norwich, to the 'U' bend of the East (Yarmouth).

  • as someone who regulary travels on the last Yarmouth or Lowestoft train i can only imagine the chaos that would occur if trains ran later. Since Christmas I've personally witnessed fights, men urinating in the luggage rack and a young "lady" vomiting all over the train. All of this was way before midnight so Heaven knows what it would be like if trains ran into the early hours. Greater anglia would have to employ bouncers to keep order.
