Norwich City player Russell Martin has revealed his favourite children's book, as part of a campaign to encourage youngsters to read.
The defender's top pick was James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl.
He also said his favourite book aimed at older readers was The Damned Utd by David Peace.
The choices were made public as part of a National Literacy Trust project together with the Premier League to encourage youngsters to pick up a book.
It comes as Literary Trust research showed only one boy in four, aged eight to 16, reads outside of class every day, and almost two-thirds of boys prefer watching TV to reading.
Other footballers to reveal their favourites were Aston Villa player Jed Steer, who opted for The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien and One Shot by Lee Child.
Crystal Palace player Aaron Wilbraham went for Alien Alby by Kaye Umansky and Gazza: My Story by Paul Gascoigne.
