The teams – Heacham FC, Thornham FC and two from Smithdon Hunstanton FC will take to the pitch in Norwich on Thursday May 29 to raise money for Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF) as well as compete for the Smithdon Hunstanton Trophy.

The teams have chosen the CLDF charity as one of the players has a baby son who suffers from biliary atresia, a rare liver disease.

Organiser Mat Pooley said: “It has become a tradition over the past few years that we arrange a match at Norwich City and raise some money for a good cause. We know that CLDF has been a real source of information and support to our player Wayne and his wife Victoria since little Blake was diagnosed and we’d love to do something for them and the other families around the country who receive this shattering news.

“It’s a treat for us as footballers to get to play at Norwich City but it’s even better to think that we can raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.”

Alison Taylor, Chief Executive of Children’s Liver Disease Foundation added: “CLDF takes action against childhood liver disease by providing information and emotional support, funds for research and a voice for all those affected.

In order to do this however, we rely on community fundraising for the majority of our income so we’re delighted and very grateful that Mat and Andrew and their team mates have decided to do this for us. It’s a great idea and I hope that they all really enjoy the experience.”

If you would like to show your support for the teams taking part please contact Andrew on 07786093684 or any club taking part.
