The Wells inshore lifeboat crew was called to rescue a leisure craft which had run aground after developing engine problems off Blakeney Point.

The 17’ Boston Whaler developed engine problems close to the shore at about 4pm this afternoon.

By the time the inshore lifeboat reached the vessel she was well aground on the beach near Blakeney Point. The three people on board had managed to wade ashore and were unhurt.

An RNLI spokesman said attempts to re-float the boat were unsuccessful, so the owner decided to anchor the vessel where she was and either tow her back over land or wait for the next tide.
