Updated photo gallery: Snow suspends north Norfolk bin collections

Heavy snow and ice has forced bin collections across north Norfolk to be suspended.
Collections of waste and recycled goods due to take place today have been cancelled.
A North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) spokesman said these would take place tomorrow.
He added bins in Edgefield, Fakenham, Gimingham, Holt, Langham, North Walsham, Overstrand, Thornage, Trimingham and Warham, which were not emptied on Tuesday because of bad weather would be included in tomorrow’s collection.
All other collections this week will be delayed by one day.
The NNDC has also urged communities to look out for vulnerable people and neighbours, including the elderly, during this week’s cold snap and make sure they are warm and safe.
It is also asking people to work together to ensure that help is available for those who may be unable to get out to pick up supplies such as food and medicine.
Forecasters have predicted more snow and freezing temperatures for the rest of the week and the weekend.
Angie Fitch-Tillett, NNDC’s Cabinet Member for coastal, health and wellbeing, said “I would strongly encourage communities to support each other during this period of cold weather. Look out for your neighbours, especially those who perhaps wouldn’t normally ask for help, by ensuring that they are warm and have access to essential supplies.
“The council is working very hard to ensure that any disruption to services provided across the district is minimised. We have contingency plans in place, and are ready to put them in to action if necessary.”
Drivers are being told to make full use of the grit bins on all of NNDC’s hard surfaced car parks. The bins are currently full and supplies will be replenished as required.
