A popular music performance in north Norfolk has been cancelled because of heavy snow and ice.

The monthly lunchtime concert at Aylsham Parish Church, due to take place tomorrow from 1pm, has been postponed.

Canon Michael Butler, chairman of the organising committee said the event would have featured live Spanish music.

The concerts, which attract between 80 and 100 people, are held on the third Thursday of each month and tomorrow’s performance has been postponed until April 18.

Tickets for the regular event cost £7 on the door.

-In another part of north Norfolk work has had to stop temporarily on the coast protection scheme at Sheringham East Prom because of the weather.

A North Norfolk District Council spokesman said freezing conditions prevented the concrete from setting properly.

Other coastal protection work and pier repairs have continued as normal today.
