Norwich airport hit by fog

22:46 14 November 2012

Thick fog caused the closure of Norwich International Airport this evening.

A flight from Aberdeen was diverted to East Midlands, one from Manchester was re-routed to Cambridge and an inbound Amsterdam flight landed at Birmingham.

Meanwhile, with widespread fog expected across the region, the Broads likely to be particularly affected, road users are being advised to check the weather and road conditions before they travel tonight and tomorrow morning.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys before they set out, checking the forecast and traffic conditions, to leave extra time for their journeys if travel conditions are poor, and to delay their journey if the weather becomes severe.

The fog is forecast to persist in some areas throughout the morning keeping temperatures down.

  • Strange. I thought that the Airport extortion racket money was supposed to pay for improvements to enable flights to operate in weather such as this ?. Obviously it is just to pay for inflated salaries, pensions and expenses .
