Monday update: North Norfolk school closures rise as snow sweeps in overnight
Archant Norfolk 2013
The snow has finally completed the town and village set after Cromer got its long-awaited dose last night and in the early hours today.
The coastal areas had escaped the worst of the weather, while inland there has continued to be a few inches of snow since early last week.
But the promised flurries blew in from the south at teatime across north Norfolk, made worse by strong easterly winds that caused drifting in some areas.
This morning, the carpet of white prompted the greatest number of Norfolk school closures since the cold snap began, with headteachers erring on the side of caution because of slippery roads and dangerous conditions at their sites.
