Archant Norfolk.

A dramatic lightning strike has left part of a Norwich road in pieces

Sunday’s storm drew people out of their homes on The Street in Trowse to find out what damage the loud lightening had caused.

Trevor Burrows, 82, lives opposite the spot where paving stones were left upturned and said he had never seen anything like it.

“There was a really loud bang and everyone in the street went to see what had happened,” he said.

“In all my 82 years I have never known anything quite as loud as that.”

A cordon remains around the site while repairs are awaited.
