When officers were called to investigate a robbery in Norwich earlier this morning, they had big clues on where to go – they just follow the footsteps in the snow.

The icy trail led them to a 22-year-old man in Willis Street, just off St Crispins roundabout, who was apprehended and is now in custody.

It followed a robbery in Pottergate in the early hours of this morning when a man was approached by two men and was punched in the face before being robbed of his mobile phone and wallet.

Officers were called to the scene at about 4.15am and followed footprints towards Anglia Square before arresting a man on Willis Street.

The man was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre where he remains in custody.

Enquiries are continuing to locate the second suspect and anyone with information should contact Norwich CID on 101.
