When officers were called to investigate a robbery in Norwich earlier this morning, they had big clues on where to go – they just follow the footsteps in the snow.

The icy trail led them to a 22-year-old man in Willis Street, just off St Crispins roundabout, who was apprehended and is now in custody.

It followed a robbery in Pottergate in the early hours of this morning when a man was approached by two men and was punched in the face before being robbed of his mobile phone and wallet.

Officers were called to the scene at about 4.15am and followed footprints towards Anglia Square before arresting a man on Willis Street.

The man was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre where he remains in custody.

Enquiries are continuing to locate the second suspect and anyone with information should contact Norwich CID on 101.

  • Instead of culls of other species (i.e. Badgers), I think it would be far better to have a clear out of 'low-lifes', such as these two robbers. This especially applies to those who recently stabbed a poor Wisbech lady to death in her own home, and then set fire to her body. There is no hope for such thugs, so let's free-up accomodation and food for 'decent' people.
