If you are planning to get out and about this bank holiday weekend you might want to do it today, according to forecasters.

After a bright morning tomorrow showers are expected to hit the region which could put a dampener on some bank holiday events.

The MetOffice has warned of heavy rain in parts of Suffolk on Monday and it is likely that the whole region will see some rainfall.

Phil Garner, forecaster at Norwich-based Weatherquest, said: “There is a mixed picture with some drier spells and some outbreaks of rain.

“There will be early brightness in some places but generally cloudy conditions with some outbreaks of heavier rain and some pieces of light rain.”

Overnight temperatures have dropped in recent days but Mr Garner said it should not be as cold tonight.

He said: “Last night I think there were some parts of the county as low as two or three degrees but tonight should not be as cold as there is some cloud coming in.”

Temperatures are expected to be around 15 to 16 degrees tomorrow although today will be warmer.

Mr Garner said: “I would say the best you can do is get out today.

“There will be highs of about 20 degrees.

“Tomorrow is not going to be a wash out by any means but it will be a bit wetter.”

Trunchonbury Festival, at Trunch, near Mundesley, continues today having enjoyed good the weather yesterday and on Friday.

Some of the events taking place tomorrow include the Aylsham Show, on the Blickling Hall estate, from 8am on Monday.

Elsewhere there will be the All About Gardening/All About Dogs event at the Norfolk Showground from 9.30am until 5pm today and tomorrow.

Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse is holding its Village at War event from 10am until 5pm on both Sunday and Monday and Pensthorpe Natural Park is hosting its Mediaeval Spectacular on both days from 10m until 5pm.
