Norwich now looks set to escape a downpour and enjoy the Lord Mayor's Celebrations in the dry.
Despite thunderstorms in West Norfolk, in Fakenham and Sheringham, Norwich could escape any rain until the evening.
This comes after a third of a month's rain fell in half a day yesterday, and warnings came of short, severe showers to fall sporadically across today.
Chris Bell of Weatherquest, a private weather analysis company based at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, said: 'It has worked out alright for Norwich today.
'Norwich is not looking too bad, and is probably getting away with it being quite dry.
'It will be mainly dry this afternoon, you may get a small shower in the evening but most activity is in West Norfolk.
'This will be the case for the rest of the afternoon, if we get a shower in the next half hour it will be fairly brief.'
The Lord Mayor's Procession starts at 5pm tonight.
