The manager of a north Norfolk carpet shop has reassured customers it will continue trading, despite a car driving into the front of the store earlier this week.
The accident happened Wednesday morning when a man drove into the front of Holt Carpets, on Fish Hill, shortly before 9am.
Garry Wood, store manager, said it was fortunate no one was hurt.
“It is believed his foot got stuck on accelerator,” he said. “We were not actually in the store yet as we do not open till nine. We pulled up behind the car as soon as it happened - thankfully everyone was okay.
“The building at the moment is unsafe but we are still trading and will be relocating in Holt within days.”
Mr Wood confirmed that the store would stay on Fish Hill in a different building while they awaited a surveyor’s report to see if the building was safe. He expected it would be open again early next week.
He added: “Our other store Cromer Carpets is open as well.”
With about 75pc of trade coming from phone and internet sales, Mr Wood said he was still able to trade from the Holt Carpets van outside the shop over the weekend.
The front of the shop is currently cordoned off.
