Despite being one of the warmest days of the year on Sunday, some people felt it was not hot enough.

And to prove it, they entered into one of the more unusual additions to this year's Norwich Food and Drink Festival - a hot wings eating competition.

Organised by the Norwich-based restaurant Woolf and Bird, twelve people were tasked with eating bowls of increasingly-spicy chicken wings.

Before they entered, each challenger had to sign a disclaimer form, and were given a strict set of rules - including no drinking milk.

The coolest sauce, which measured 5,000 scovilles - the unit used to measure a chili's heat - was completed with ease.

But by round four - as the heat increased to 200,000 scovilles - the spicy sauce began to take its toll.

In the end, eight challengers completed the final sixth round, which saw them eat wings coated in a 1.6m scoville-rated sauce mix.
