Police are cancelling their appeal for information following a reported burglary at a home in Tamarisk Drive on Monday, November 12, after a wallet thought to have been stolen turned up within the property.

An appeal was made earlier this week after a wallet went missing, thought to have been taken in a walk-in burglary.

The wallet was later found and it is now believed no burglary occurred.

  • I heard the police were handing out flyers. They were more worried about the missing wallet than all the cars parked on the pavements! Ignore the real crimes and chase up imaginary ones - well done chaps! Signed, angry pushchair owner!

  • Dear EDP If you can't actually find any real news why not just leave a blank space in the paper we can tear out and write our shopping lists on. That would be much more useful than this drivel.

  • As it's 'Children In Need night' tonight maybe a donation would be order of the day for wasting Police time.

  • Several voters went missing to elect a new police commissioner. It was discovered later, that people didn't really give a monkey

  • It is news stories like this that keeps the EEN ahead of the rest of the field, although not as exiting as the "man spills tin of paint in kitchen" I was enthralled.
