Walkers picking up the pace in north Norfolk for Parkinson’s
A total of 165 walkers picked up the pace in north Norfolk to improve the lives of people living with Parkinson’s.
They all took part in Walk for Parkinson’s – Blickling Estate, one of a series of 32 sponsored events being held up and down the country during 2017.
Fundraisers chose either a 2.5 or 5.5-mile route around the estate and surrounding countryside on Saturday, May 13. Parkinson’s UK hopes to raise £14,000 from the day.
Becky Redbond, regional fundraiser for Parkinson’s UK in East Anglia (East), said: “Thank you to everyone who walked and volunteered at Blickling to help make it such a fantastic day.
“All money raised will help us to provide support and information for people affected by Parkinson’s and to help find better treatments, and ultimately a cure.”
Every hour, someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson’s. It affects 127,000 people, about one in 500 of the population.
