The Feltwell-raised former athlete took to Twitter to call the thieves who took her Cannondale Slice, “scumbags”, and appealed for help in finding it.

The bike was snatched from an office in Chessington, London, on Saturday.

CCTV footage posted by Ms Wellington on Youtube shows the thief carrying the bike into the office car park, before riding away on it.

She tweeted: “Scumbags have stolen my World Champ 2011 winning @RideCannondale Slice from an office in London. More later but please keep eyes open.”

She later added that the bike had “huge sentimental value” and said: “Just seen the CCTV. Can’t believe the thief had the audacity to steal and then ride away on my bike.”

The 37-year-old described the bike as being white and black, with HED Cycling clincher wheels (90mm/40mm), Xlab USA cages and decorated with a small hibiscus flower and Ironman Triathlon gold sticker.
