Two cars were stuck in flood water under the bridge at Station Road in Wymondham this morning.
Police had cordoned off the junction after a green Peugeot estate got stranded in the water earlier this morning.
But a vehicle then broke the cordon and traffic continued to pass under the bridge - with a second car getting stuck in the water.
Norfolk Fire Service arrived to pump out water from under the bridge.
The incidents caused traffic problems in the town, affecting the area of Station Road, Silfield Road and Rightup Lane.
The area under the bridge is prone to flooding and residents have made several pleas to get the problem fixed.
Simon Matthews, who lives in Wymondham, said: “It’s just crazy that this keeps happening. Nothing is being done about it - that’s the biggest frustration. There is no easy way round if you can’t go under that bridge.”
