Scores of people gathered to watch the locks come off at the Royal Norfolk Show when a man who lost his wife to cancer shaved his hair to raise more than £5,000 in her memory.
David Norris, of Reepham, lost his wife Jean, 65, in September last year after 43 years of marriage.
During her treatment, Mr Norris, who is an agricultural sales representative with Ernest Doe and Sons, based in North Walsham, promised he would shave his head as she lost her hair.
But sadly Mrs Norris died before he could honour his promise and so he completed the challenge before a crowd of people at the show at the Ernest Doe stand.
Rugby player brothers Ben and Tom Youngs attended to show their support, helping to complete the shave, and Mr Norris said he was proud to have raised so much for The Big C.
He said: 'My customers and work mates have been very generous and my company have been supportive.
'The Big C is a cause close to my heart and I will be satisfied if we can just make one person's life better.'
Diane Northway, of The Big C, said the money would go a long way towards the running on the charity's centre in Norwich.
She said: 'I would like to say thank you to Mr Norris for his work because it is not even a year since his wife died.'
And Mr Norris's daughter Denise Keeler, 42, who showed her support with her sons Alfie, eight, and Harry, 11, said the day had brought a few tears.
She said: 'It just brought my mum back. When she lost her hair it was very hard for her.
'My dad is an amazing person and would do anything for anybody.'
