It's a treat Prince Edward looks forward to whenever he is in Norfolk.

Today at the Royal Norfolk Show the royal revealed the Eastern Daily Press to be his news source of choice when staying in the fine county.

The Earl of Wessex visited the EDP's famous Tea Tent for his second day at the show as president of the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association.

Around 2,500 cups of tea were served at the much-loved stand 211 on the third drive yesterday, with organisers expecting that number to increase today.

And although the Prince did not have a cuppa himself, he did tell the newspaper's senior management of his love for the title.

Miller Hogg, the managing director of Archant East, the community media group which also owns the EDP, said it was a privilege to have the prince visit the tea tent.

He said the EDP and Norwich Evening News have a unique relationship with its readers and the royal's praise for the title emphasises that.

'This is a really important day for us,' he said. 'It's an event where we can sit down, talk to our readers and thank them.

'The Tea Tent is our way of giving them somewhere to put their feet up and relax.'

The Earl also spoke to Mustard TV's managing director Fiona Ryder about the local TV station, which launched in March.
