A venue has been announced for the third annual East Anglian Storytelling Festival.

The festival is to take place at The Locks Inn pub in Geldeston this summer.

There will be something for everyone including storytelling sessions for children and families, craft workshops, professional development sessions and plenty of opportunities for budding amateurs to tell their own tales in story round sessions.

Suzanne Arnold, co-chairman of the East Anglian Fabulation said: 'We're delighted to be taking the festival into a different East Anglian county this year, over the border from Suffolk.

'The Geldeston Locks Inn has been home to the Tales and Ales Storytelling club which is celebrating its fifth birthday this year, so there is a strong tradition of supporting storytelling already established here. One of the county's best loved pubs, perfectly situated on the banks of the river Waveney, it's a wonderful venue, with open fires, and a warm welcome from landlord Colin Smith.'

The festival will take place between June 30 and July 2.

However, on April 20, the organisers are planning to have as many storytellers as possible go to as many places and unusual locations as possible for their official launch event.

Suzanne Arnold said: 'We're hoping that there will be some wacky requests. We will finish up at the Locks Inn in the evening with my regular storytelling night 'Tales and Ales at the Locks Inn'.

Artistic director Justine De Mierre, who is involved with the festival said: '

'I have fond memories of drinking at The Locks Inn many years ago when I lived in Beccles so it will be wonderful to be back.

'We are thrilled with this year's line-up - and delighted to be joined for the first time by East Anglia's own master storyteller, Hugh Lupton. We are also welcoming back our patron, Taffy Thomas MBE, the first storytelling laureate, the wonderful Shonaleigh Cumbers with stories from the Jewish drut'syla tradition, as well as our very own John Row - a legend in his lifetime.'
