Four people have been taken to hospital following a crash at Saxlingham Thorpe this evening.
The crash, involving four cars, happened on the Ipswich Road near the Mill Inn shortly after 6pm, and the road was closed following the incident.
Fire crews from Long Stratton, Carrow and Earlham were sent to the scene and firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to free four people who were trapped following the collision.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said four people were taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in separate land ambulances. The spokesman said that one person suffered a chest injury, one person suffered a minor head injury, one person suffered a back injury and one person suffered a leg injury, and that none of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance was also called to the scene.
Later this evening, shortly before 6.45pm, there was a two-vehicle crash in Dereham Road in Norwich.
Fire crews from Sprowston, Earlham and Hethersett attended, and firefighters helped free one person.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said one person was treated for neck pain and taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital by land ambulance.
Just before 7.45pm tonight there was also a crash on London Road, in Wymondham. One fire crew from Wymondham was sent to the scene.
