A man in his 70s was left with a leg injury after he got trapped under his own car.

Emergency services were called to The Street in Shereford, near Fakenham, at about 10.30pm on Tuesday.

The man had become trapped under his Rover 25 after he tried to recover it when it came off the road.

Fire crews from Fakenham released him and made the vehicle and surrounding area safe.

The East of England Ambulance Service provided treatment at the scene and took the man to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn.

A Norfolk police spokesman said the man had bruises to his lower leg.

On Tuesday, fireman Tim Edwards tweeted: “Rescued a man trapped under his car, which he was trying to recover after running off the road. #cold #slippery.”
