A woman is in hospital in a critical condition after suffering head injuries in a crash on the A1066 Victoria Road in Diss.
She was riding a bicycle which was involved in a crash with an articulated lorry at about 9.20am today.
The 60-year-old, who police say is a local woman, had been cycling on a purple ladies’ mountain biker with panniers, towards Thetford when the crash happened close to the council depot on Victoria Road in Diss.
She received serious head injuries and was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment. She remains there in a critical but stable condition.
The road was closed for about an hour following the crash, with diversions between Skelton Road and Vince’s Road.
Norfolk police have appealed for witnesses to get in touch. PC Andrew Lincoln, from Wymondham Road Policing unit, would like to hear from anyone who saw the crash or who saw the lorry, or the cyclist, beforehand.
