Update: Two taken to hospital after Lamas crash

Two people were taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital after a crash on Scottow Road, Lamas, yesterday afternoon.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance, two land ambulances and fire crews from North Walsham, Aylsham and Great Yarmouth all attended the accident, at about 12.40pm, which involved two vans.

Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to free two people from their vehicles.

An air ambulance spokesman said Dr Mike Donald and critical care paramedic Ben Caine had worked with the road ambulance crew to extricate one male driver.

They treated him for lower leg injuries and escorted him in the road ambulance. A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said a second person was also taken to hospital.
