The road was shut between the Forest Retail Park roundabout at Thetford and Elveden because of the crash, which happened at about 9pm on Saturday.

It was closed for several hours.

A volunteer team from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service went to the scene, along with the East of England Ambulance Service.

They helped treat two patients, one for neck and arm injuries and the other for neck and hip injuries.

The SARS team then travelled with the two patients who were taken to the West Suffolk Hospital for further treatment.

Firefighters from Thetford, East Harling and Methwold attended the scene to help release casualties, while police urged drivers to expect delays.
