Officers from the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit stopped a van in Swansea Road and recovered two kilos of heroin with an estimated street value of up to £200,000.

Police also raided a house in Avenue Road, where two large bundles of cash, estimated to be between £20,000 and £40,000 were seized.

In a third incident, a workman who had been called to Calthorpe Road alerted police when a man at a house he called at answered the door and then fled.

A police spokesman said: “When officers arrived they found a sophisticated cannabis production operation and seized 275 cannabis plants, along with equipment associated with drugs cultivation. The plants have now been seized and police are investigating.”

Tony Rimmer, 28, of Pethrack Road, Liverpool, Carl Fairfield, 37, of Totnes Road in Liverpool and Rocky Gamble, 30, of Avenue Road in Norwich were all charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

They were remanded in custody and will appear before magistrates in Norwich tomorrow.
