Update: Road reopened after Gorleston crash

A woman has been taken to hospital with “serious” injuries following a crash close to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston.

Police were called to reports of a two vehicle crash on the Lowestoft Road at the junction with Brasenose Avenue at about 3.35pm.

A spokesman said a woman has been taken to hospital with “serious” injuries after the crash which has resulted in the road being closed from Bridge Road onto the A12 junction and on the dual carriageway from the Middleton Road roundabout.

Police confirmed the incident was cleared and the road was reopened before the evening rush hour.

A hospital spokesman later said the woman’s injuries were not life-threatening.
