A pedestrian who died on the A47 near Dereham last night was hit by two cars, police have said.

The man, who died at the scene, was believed to have been in his 30s and from the Dereham area.

Police said he was in the east-bound carriageway close to the slip road from the A1075 Tavern Lane when he was hit by a silver Peugeot 307 and a black Audi A4 which heading towards Norwich at about 12.50am. A yellow DAE lorry was also travelling in the same direction.

Paramedics said the man was hit at high speed, and was already dead when they arrived.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team asked for any witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who saw the collision or has information about it should contact them on 101. In particular, they would like to hear from anyone who saw a pedestrian in the carriageway between 12.30am and 1.10am.

  • isnt this the A47 dereham bypass where the green cats eyes are missing etc, you have to guess where the actuall exit is...... because the white arrows and broken lines are faded!!!!!
