The Norwich to London route and Ipswich lines saw major problems this morning with some early morning trains to the capital cancelled.

Greater Anglia lifted travel restriction and all passengers from Norwich can use their tickets via Cambridge.

In a statement the train operator said: “We are very sorry for the serious inconvenience this disruption is causing to our customers.”

  • I hope the lines keep going wrong. Then all these commuters will leave Norwich and return to London to live thus lowering the house prices making it more affordably for local people to buy property.

  • Who ever is at fault, this is beyond a joke. EVERY DAY there is something. Of course, Greater Anglia is always 'sorry' but nothing changes. Many delays are down to train faults, or members of staff being unavailable. It really is time for a serious look at the running of this line.

  • Surely the EDP headline today should simply read NORMAL SERVICE ON GREATER (THAN WHAT?) ANGLIA

  • Oh I'm sure Chloe Smith already has a photographer on their way to meet her and an article will appear shortly with her bleating on about her Norwich in 90 campaign which we all know is a farce

  • As a regular user I dont think its exaggerating to say there is something wrong with the Norwich to London line more days than not. Certainly every week....signal failure, train breakdown, over-running works etc.

  • As Derek (below) states, this is no fault of GA, rather NR and their contractors, whoever they may be.

  • I don't think she will do anything, she never does. This delay is nothing to with Greater Anglia, it is Network Rails with overrunning engineering work
