Update: Neighbours tried to resuscitate motorcyclist who died in Norwich crash
A motorcyclist died in Norwich last night after hitting a pedestrian.
The motorcyclist, a 20-year-old from Rockland St Mary, was killed after colliding with the pedestrian on Magpie Road in the north of the city at around 8.20pm.
The crash happened at the junction of Magpie Road and Heath Road by the Delhi Spice takeaway.
Eyewitnesses said the motorcyclist was found outside the takeaway and his bike, a black Aprilia, crashed into the wall of the house next to Delhi Spice.
Simon Bunter, 32, whose front garden wall was destroyed in the accident, said: “I was sat in the dining room when I heard a massive crash. It was like a loud bang. I opened the door and the motorbike had hit the wall. The guy was lying by a post.”
Mr Bunter called 999 and along with neighbours helped the motorcyclist and pedestrian.
He said the ambulance arrived within minutes.
He was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital but died from his injuries.
The male pedestrian suffered shoulder injuries.
