A woman reported missing more than three months ago has told officers she is in Spain, police said.
Angela Harmes, 65, was reported missing from her home in Cringleford, near Norwich, by her ex-husband who became concerned after being unable to make contact with her.
Detective Inspector John Allison, who has been leading enquiries, said: “We’ve been able to make contact with Ms Harmes, who informed us she is currently in Spain and is safe and well.
“While we have no reason to doubt her, further enquiries will be carried out to confirm this and I would like to thank the media for their assistance in publicising this appeal.”
Despite carrying out several enquiries, both locally and internationally, police had previously failed to make contact with Ms Harmes.
Ms Harmes is also known to use surnames of Eagling and Knott and has links to Cambridge.
