Emergency services, including police and fire crews from Acle and Carrow, were called to reports of a two-car crash at just after 7.30pm tonight.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) said two ambulances, a rapid response car (RRV) and paramedic officer were sent to the crash.

The crews who attended said the man was “very lucky judging by the damage of the car” and added he was “lucky to escape with just a minor shoulder injury”.

The man did not have to be taken to hospital.

Meanwhile firefighters have cut the roof off a silver Vauxhall Corsa following a two-car crash on Dereham Road, Costessey.

Crews from Earlham and Sprowston were called to the crash which happened just after 7.10pm. A spokesman in the Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service control room said one person has been “extricated” following the crash near to the BP garage.

An ambulance service spokesman said two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the crash. Four people had to be assessed at the scene - two adults and two children - with one person being taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
