The little girl collapsed yesterday morning as she sat in a rubber ring in the pool at Hemsby Beach Holiday Park.

A spokesman for the ambulance service last night said the youngster was taken to the James Paget University Hospital in a serious condition.

A lifeguard jumped to the rescue and gave her CPR until the paramedics came.

The health and safety advisor for the resort, John Foreman, said the parents of the eight month old hope they will be able to bring their daughter home this afternoon.

He said they wished to thank the lifeguard for his quick actions.

The cause of her collapse remains unknown.
