Firefighters had to be called out today when a north Norfolk street became flooded after a water main burst in the early hours of the morning.
Crews from Sheringham and Cromer were called to Margaret English Close at 3.37am and assisted residents with water removal.
Anglian Water also attended and stemmed the leak at Sheringham.
It is believed that two properties suffered flood damage while others experienced low pressure during this morning.
Antony Innes, from Anglian Water, said: “We’re very sorry that a number of properties in Margaret English Close, Sheringham, have been flooded when a nearby water main burst in the early hours.
“We have contacted these customers and our insurers will be in touch later today to do everything we can to put this distressing situation right as quickly as possible.
“Teams were on site by 5.30am to stop the leak and begin repairs to the 10 inch pipe. Some customers in the local area may have lost water supply or experienced lower than usual pressure, although this should have returned to normal before 6am.
“Once again we’re very sorry to those customers affected by the flooding.”
