The 2pm Christmas Special has not been affected by the weather forecast and there was no scheduled show this evening, according to a spokesman.

Tomorrow’s two shows would go ahead as planned, she added.

However, elsewhere across the region, the RSPB has closed its bird reserve at Snettisham and other events have been cancelled.

Waveney District Council has cancelled a scheduled meeting for this evening (Thursday) “due to the developing weather event.”

Tonight’s Overview and Scrutiny meeting has been cancelled, and a council spokesman said: “The flood risk warnings for Lowestoft have resulted in tonight’s Waveney District Council Overview and Scrutiny meeting (at Lowestoft town hall) being cancelled. A date for the meeting to continue will be arranged within due course.”

Late night shopping entertainment in Lowestoft town centre has also been “cancelled for safety reasons.” Emma King, BID Manager from Lowestoft Vision, said: “Tonight’s late night shopping entertainment in the town has been cancelled for safety reasons due to the severe weather warnings in place, we are hoping to make next Thursday extra special to compensate.”

And Suffolk Chamber of Commerce has postponed this evening’s scheduled Lowestoft and Waveney Chamber of Commerce Business Awards gala evening at Potters in Hopton until a later date.
