Diversions delayed travellers, including drivers on their way to Carrow Road for Norwich City’s match with Stoke this afternoon.

Fire and rescue teams from Dereham and Earlham assisted ambulance paramedics at the scene of the crash, which happened at about 12.15pm near the North Tuddenham Road junction.

The King’s Lynn-bound carriageway has since reopened, and recovery teams are expected to be on scene shortly. The Norwich-bound carriageway reopened at around 2pm.

A Norfolk police spokesman said there were no other vehicles involved in the crash, and that the motorcyclist is not believed to have life-threatening injuries.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance attended the scene as it was the closest available unit, having just dropped another patient at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Transport operator Konectbus had warned passengers of delays to its Konectexpress 8 service, as it is on diversion.
