The A11 in Suffolk was closed for more than six hours today during the evening rush hour following a serious collision.
Police were called just after 2pm today to reports that there had been a collision involving three heavy goods vehicles.
The crash closed the A11 in both directions as a result of the incident.
The ambulance service was alerted to the incident at 2pm, dispatching an ambulance, two rapid response vehicles, an ambulance officer and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
A man, who is believed to be in his 30s, suffered serious trauma injuries and was taken by land ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, accompanied by the air ambulance medics, for emergency treatment.
The road reopened just before 8.30pm.
