Three people were taken to hospital after a crash on the A11 in Suffolk.

The accident, between a black Honda Civic and grey Vauxhall Astra, happened on the northbound stretch of the road, near the junction with the B1112, at about 7.45pm last night (Saturday).

A crew from Mildenhall, along with a fire appliance and rescue vehicle from Bury St Edmunds, three ambulances and a clinical manager were sent to the scene.

Suffolk Accident Rescue Service also attended.

There were three casualties, two of which were 21-year-old US servicemen who were trapped in their car.

One of the men was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital while the other, and an additional person, were taken to the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds.

Their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
