A woman has died after falling from a multi-storey car park.

The A12 Battery Green Road in Lowestoft was closed in both directions between Waveney Road and Gordon Road this morning after a woman was found in the road.

Suffolk police were called to the scene at 8.05am and discovered a woman, believed to be in her 20s, with head injuries in Battery Green Road near to the Wilkinson store.

A police spokesman said: “It is believed she fell from the car park, which is also closed.”

The East of England Ambulance Service sent an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle to the scene and the East Anglian Air Ambulance also attended but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road has now been re-opened.

Inquiries are ongoing to identify the woman.
