Two people have been taken to hospital following a two car crash in Costessey this evening.
Crews from Earlham and Carrow were called to reports of a two car crash on the A1074 Dereham Road at just before 5.20pm.
Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to release two people from the vehicles following the crash.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) said two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene as well as a duty operations manager.
The spokesman said there was not much detail about their injuries but confirmed two people had been taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
The crash has resulted in the road being closed and delays in both directions between the Longwater Lane junction and the Barnard Road junction.
