Fire crews have been battling a blaze above the Lucky Star takeaway on St Peter's Road in Great Yarmouth.
Three adults and two children have been taken to hospital after a fire broke out at about 8.35am today.
The ambulance service was called at 8.39am, dispatching a rapid response car, two ambulances and a paramedic.
Paramedic officer Nick Smith said: 'We assessed five casualties for smoke inhalation. Their conditions weren't thought to be serious but they were conveyed to James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston as a precaution.'
All roads have now reopened but St Peter's Road was closed both ways between Standard Place and Napoleon Place while firefighters from around the region were at the scene.
Appliances from Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Acle and Lowestoft were in attendance.
