A man has died today (Saturday) following an incident at Mundesley beach.
A crew from the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) was called to the scene at around 1.25pm to reports of a male swimmer in difficulty in the water.
Yarmouth Coastguard requested the launch of the Mundesley Inshore Lifeboat and tasked the Happisburgh Coastguard Rescue Team along with requesting a land ambulance and the air ambulance.
Once on scene paramedics attempted to rescusitate the casualty.
A spokesman for the EAAA said: 'Despite the best efforts of the air crew, coastguard and lifeguards, nothing could be done to help the man and he was declared deceased at the scene.'
The man is believed to have been 'elderly'.
