A toddler fell more than three metres from a first floor window in Little Plumstead, sparking an air ambulance call.

The three-year-old girl landed on wooden decking in yesterday afternoon's incident, in Taylor Way, with an ambulance and air ambulance called shortly before 5pm.

She suffered a head and ankle injury which were not thought to be life threatening, ambulance bosses said.

Air ambulance captain Steve Norris flew Dr Antonio Bellini and critical care paramedic Rod Wells to the scene, and they treated the patient alongside a land ambulance team.

The toddler was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital by land ambulance.

A neighbour, speaking anonymously, said she 'felt sick' when she heard what had happened and had since bought new locks for her windows.

A spokesman for Norfolk police confirmed officers attended but found there to be no suspicious circumstances.
