Just before Christmas, staff at the Matthew Project were presented with a cheque by a group of University of East Anglia executive MBA students who had organised a fundraising event at Norwich Arts Centre.

The event, in November, played host to a number of local bands including The Tracks, Black Shampoo and Collider, all who played free of charge and Matthew Project workers were there raising awareness around alcohol, smoking, drugs, drink spiking and offering advice.

Cards with the Matthew Project 24/7 helpline number, 0800 764754, were distributed and people were encouraged to contact the helpline if needed.

Graeme Stewart, assistant director, said: “I want to thank everyone involved in this event; for all the hard work of the executive MBA students and the generosity of the supporting businesses which created an amazing event that will also impact and make a difference to the lives of young people and adults affected by drug and alcohol problems; we are really encouraged by their commitment to the work we do.”
