The Wells RNLI inshore lifeboat was called out to two rescues today.

The lifeboat launched a 7.57am to aid a speedboat in trouble in Brancaster Harbour with six people on board. The speedboat was reached at 8.20am, where the situation was assessed and it was decided to tow the boat and its occupants to Brancaster Hard.

On the way back to Wells, at around 9am, a second call came through requesting that the inshore lifeboat check on the condition of a sailing dinghy in Brancaster Harbour on a lee shore.

The crew found that the dinghy, with three people on board, had ripped sails and was unable to make its own way back to shore.

The dingy was taken under tow to Brancaster Hard and the inshore lifeboat then returned to station where it was refuelled and once again placed on service.

Nobody suffered any injuries.
