The service was alerted at 3.26pm today (Saturday, September 8) and two appliances from Great Yarmouth and the water carrier from Hethersett were sent to tackle the deliberately lit fire.

However a spokesman said the blaze was minor and was extinguished with hand appliances.

The water carrier was not needed in the end, but had been sent as a precautionary measure due to incident’s recorded level of threat.
